About us
We are Peter and Karina de Vries and have been living in beautiful Berltsum (Berlikum) - the 12th city of Fryslân - since 1996 in the former schoolmaster's house on the Hôfsleane. In 2017 we became owners of the school building. Because it had been "in our garden" for 21 years, we already had plenty of ideas for the beautiful building. The renovation started in October 2017. In the evenings, weekends and holiday periods, we transformed the building into a beautiful location to work and spend the night. The office spaces on the first floor were ready at the beginning of 2020. Since September 2020, we have been welcoming guests on the ground floor in two beautiful, spacious studios. Come and see. In the area
The best kept secret of Friesland is Berltsum, the 12th city - since 1355. Eight kilometers as the crow flies from the Wadden Sea World Heritage and on the Elfstedenroute between Franeker and Dokkum. Here you can enjoy space, air and landscape. As far as you can see. Until the mid-20th century, Berltsum had a vegetable auction, a horticultural school and its own market in Leeuwarden. The inhabitants are still dynamic, enterprising and independent. Our building is centrally located in Berlikum, 80 meters from a bus stop (line 71, both to Leeuwarden and to Harlingen).
